Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” to be ported to PS4 and Xbox One

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” is an action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment. It was initially released for next-generation consoles, including Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The game’s director, Stig Asmussen, announced in February that it would not be available on older consoles due to limitations in their hardware. This decision was based on the fact that new consoles provide developers with the opportunity to incorporate more details, design significantly larger maps, increase enemy diversity, and achieve higher overall visual fidelity.

However, Electronic Arts has recently announced that the game is now being adapted for earlier consoles. They are working to bring “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, allowing players using older gaming systems to enjoy the game as well.

Until now, Respawn Entertainment has not revealed any specific features for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

Why is it important?

The importance of this move lies in the large user base of the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, as they were popular gaming platforms for almost a decade. Making “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” available for these older consoles allows Respawn Entertainment to tap into the existing player community and offer the game to a broader range of fans.

The studio’s plan revolves around improving the existing versions until they reach a level of stability that meets their higher standards. Once they successfully address the issues currently affecting the game, they intend to utilize this foundation as a basis for the PS4 and Xbox One releases.

While there might be certain compromises due to the limitations of the older hardware, bringing “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” to the PS4 and Xbox One versions demonstrates a commitment to legacy support and an appreciation for the loyal fans who have been with these consoles throughout their lifespan.
