Baldur’s Gate 3 Developer Says Xbox Series S Is Not Holding Gaming Back

Larian Studios’ CEO, Swen Vincke, has recently shared his opinion about this matter in an interview with Skill Up. He said that Xbox Series S is not holding gaming consoles back; it only needs some adjustments to be developed properly.

Swen said that, like other platforms, Xbox Series S also has some challenges, but it is not awful. He also pointed toward the potential release of PlayStation 7 that, if it existed, would introduce a choice for developers. They would have to decide whether to focus on developing next-generation hardware or gather more players using older-generation consoles.

This choice is important for determining the reach and accessibility of the game. Preferring next-generation hardware may provide the best visuals and performance, but it may limit the accessibility of the game to the audience. On the other hand, moving towards the old generation would attract a wide range of players.
